The Thoracic Surgery Unit based in Baggiovara is very active in clinical research in the fields of neoplastic and non-neoplastic diseases of the lung, pleura, chest wall and mediastinum. It collaborates with oncologists, radiotherapists, pulmonologists, anesthetists, plastic surgeons, cardiac surgeons and pathologists. Further collaboration is currently underway with the Mirandola Tecnopolo (Modena) for the study of pulmonary fibrosis.
