The Baggiovara Thoracic Surgery Unit adopts all the most modern surgical technologies, in particular those for the minimally-invasive surgery, but also those that allow extensive “open” surgery for locally advanced neoplasms.In case of tumours of the chest wall, large portions of the wall are replaced using titanium prosthetic structures (which may be created specifically for the patient based on pre-operative radiological studies), restoring the necessary rigidity that characterises the chest wall itself.
For thoracic trauma, it uses titanium prostheses that rapidly stabilise rib fractures and ensure rapid healing, reducing pain and facilitating rapid functional recovery in patients.
